Pyaar Impossible is Inexcusable

As in the YRF tradition to give viewers a glimpse of Utopia, Pyaar Impossible does just that and amidst song and dance and, deliberate beating around the bush, the twain meet, greet and fall in love. But unlike their earlier ventures Dilwale Dulhaniya.. or the recent Rab Ne.., PI is an outright waste of time.

Alisha Merchant (Priyanka) and Abhay Sharma (Uday) meet in college but never speak to each other. He’s in love with her, she doesn’t know he exists, and 7 years later it’s the same story all over again, only this time she’s divorced and has a cheeky 6-year old. But Abhay also has another mission: to track down Varun Sanghvi (Morea). Years ago Varun had stolen Abhay’s software and now has decided to sell it to the highest bidder, who also happens to be Alisha’s boss.

Abhay becomes a nanny to her daughter and also works part-time at Pinnacle, where Alisha works, thus killing two birds with one stone. Soon the mother and daughter accept him into their lives, and all’s well that ends YRF-style.

But the story is the least of your woes. Jugal Hansraj’s lack of attention to detail, Priyanka’s skimpy clothing (even at workplace) and deadpan performance from all mar your ‘movie experience.’ What will keep you glued to your seat, however, are witty comments coming from harangued viewers (matinees are best for that kind of thing).

It’s safe to say you won’t miss much if you skip PI and move on to other draws (Sherlock Holmes, Paranormal Activity) this weekend.
