Rock On for Humanity

Shankar, Arjun and PurabRock On for Humanity, the charity event initiated by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Arjun Rampal, was well received, drawing audiences from Page 3 and Bollywood as well. Hosted by Luke Kenny and VJ Sophie Chaudary, the three-hour event featured the likes of Something Relevant, Shaai’r N Func, and Avial, among many others. Missing in action however, was Rabbi Shergill.
Organized to collect funds for the children of Bihar, the concert’s audience were enthralled by performances including Saif’s along with Parikrama. Shaan, Them Clones, and Pentagram also made an impact as did the band “Magik”, who literally took the cake. Raghu Dixit and Kailasa sang their hits and also those from their yet-to-be released albums. In short, the event blended hard rock and Bollywood successfully. The apt choice for the finale, the song “Rock On” brought everyone on stage, including Hritik Roshan, who sang with all his heart.
The socialite junta was also present. Parmeshwar Godrej, Shabana Azmi, Karan Johar, Preity Zinta, Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora made their presence felt, with Preity wooing the crowds rather prettily. All of the aforementioned celebrities did their bit to raise awareness and lent to the cause. All in all, the event was its money’s worth, and the crowds went home happy.
